Tip #1: Do your homework before
planning your vacation. Decide what area(s) you want to visit and all that it has to offer. Choose a condo
that is safe and well maintained.
Tip #2: When looking for a beach condo rental, understand that the term
"beach" means different things in different locations.
Scrutinize terms such as "ocean view", "steps to the
beach", or "beach accessibility." Know the exact location
before renting the property. For example, try using Google Earth to get a
good view of the condo locations.
Tip #3: Vacation with friends and share expenses. Many condos accommodate
up to 10 or more people.
Tip #4: When renting a condo from a private individual, ask a lot of
questions. Obtain a list of references and contact them. Find out if pets
or smoking are allowed.
Tip #5: Once you decide upon your condo, get a written contract that
clearly states the terms and conditions of the rental. Generally, a
security deposit is required within 10 days from the date you make the

with the local laws. Some beaches allow pets, while others do not. Some
beaches allow people to smoke, while others charge a hefty fine if you
light up. Regardless of where you stay; if you plan to engage in fishing,
you'll need a fishing license.
Tip #8: You can save a considerable amount of money if you wait until the
off-season to rent. For example. Florida's off-season falls between May
and October, while the peak season falls between November and April.
Tip #9: Invest in travel insurance. Things can go wrong
when vacation time rolls around. Even the most carefully laid plans can be
interrupted by unexpected illness, travel delay, emergency evacuation, or
lost luggage.
